There are so many gorgeous gown options out there but how are you going to KNOW when you’ve found ‘the one’? So many fabrics, necklines, silhouettes & details to choose from, where do you even begin? Dress shopping can be really exciting but feel daunting at the same time. But it doesn’t have to be! We’ve helped so many brides find their perfect dress. We’re sharing our favorite questions to ask yourself to help you find ‘the one!’ It’s a pretty dress, but is it YOUR dress? We’ve said it before, there are TONS of gorgeous gown options out there (& you’re going to look stunning in them!) but it doesn’t mean it’s YOUR dress. When trying to decide if a dress could be the one, picture yourself walking down the aisle. Envision yourself on your special day, at your venue with your fiance surrounded by your loved ones. If it’s not giving you all the bridal feels, admire it one last time & move on. How would you rate this dress on a scale of 1-10? If you’re torn between a few dress options, it helps to rate them. This may sound overly simple but trust us when we say it’s effective! If one option is a 6 & the other is a 9, you can eliminate the 6 because you’ve already found one that’s better. If it is ranked a 9, think about what’s holding you back from making it a 10. If there is something seriously missing from the dress that can not be solved with adding accessories & minor alterations, that’s a sign to keep looking. If there’s nothing you would change about the dress & it’s the commitment of rating it a 10 that’s another story! Are you comparing everything back to one dress? If you keep coming back to one dress in mind during your appointment, that’s a wonderful indicator you’re on the right track! If you couldn’t say Yes! & just needed to sleep on it or wanted to see what else is out there. That’s okay too! If you’re trying on multiple dresses at various stores & keep comparing back to the original one…odds are you’ve found it & there isn’t going to be a dress that beats it. Are you comparing your Yes! 1/30/2021 #IvoryRoseBride Johanna & now husband Tyler enjoyed a whimsical winter wonderland on their special day. Wisconsin winters are the perfect excuse to snuggle up tight with your partner & incorporate a fur stole. Plus, her embellished statement train made for some STUNNING photos. 10/23/2020 A little rain didn’t damper the day for #IvoryRoseBride Chelsei & hubs Kevin. Wisconsin leaves were at their peak providing a gorgeous natural fall backdrop. They said ‘I do’ in an intimate & classy ceremony at Westlin Hall. We absolutely LOVED helping Chelsei find the perfect dress with her mom. Our favorite moment? Telling her the dress she said Yes! to was named Kevyn & then finding out her groom-to-be was also named Kevin. Major chills & totally meant-to-be! What was your favorite moment on your big day? After our ceremony our photographer came back to our house and we cut our cake with our families in our own home. It was such a special moment for us. We went from 300 plus guests before covid and after we had 8 and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The day was filled with so much love and completely focused on us. What advice do you have for future brides-to-be? Enjoy every moment of the whole experience and do what makes the two of you happy not anyone else. Let’s be blunt, bridal sizing is HORRIBLE! Depending on the dress & the designer there can be a 2-3x size increase between your street size & your bridal size. But before you start to fret, we want to share insight around sizing inconsistencies & how you can shift your mindset. Every designer uses a different size chart based on their dress patterns. Which means your Street Size & your Dress Size are not going to be the same. Wonderful…..exactly what every bride wants to hear while shopping for their big day right?! This isn’t designed to make you feel bad about yourself, but it certainly brings about insecurities & self-doubt. We know it’s hard not to focus on the number on the tag, but let’s shift that mindset! It’s not about the Size, it’s about the Measurements. Size charts take into consideration three key measurements: your bust, waist & hips. We almost never see brides measure up perfectly against all three of these measurements. Why? Because every body is built differently. Our expert stylists will recommend a size closest to your natural measurements but you’ll still need some alterations to help get the perfect fit for your body. 10/10/2020 #IvoryRoseBride Danielle & her husband Jeremy’s big day may have been in the midst of a pandemic, but they didn’t let that stop them from celebrating! Their classic-meets-boho wedding at High Cliff was full of love, laughter & their special people. And of course, lots of champagne! What was your favorite moment on your big day? Cruising around on the shuttle with our wedding party drinking champagne and jamming to our favorite tunes. What advice do you have for future brides-to-be? Don’t stress when things don’t go as planned. Nothing turns out exactly as you intended, but as long as you go with the flow and make the best of it, you will have the best day no matter what. Oh. Em. Gee! We’ve already been in our gorgeous space for over a year. We’ve all fallen head over heels with our intimate feminine boutique. It’s hard to believe Ivory Rose didn’t always look this way! After touring a few available properties in Downtown Appleton, we said Yes! to our dream space. Our neighbors at Depawsitory were the prior tenants before they moved to their current location. As you can imagine, a pet store & bridal boutique don’t have a ton in common! It took some visualizing but the location was perfect, the large windows provided amazing natural light & the flooring was recently updated. The overall bones were good, it just needed a little face lift before we could welcome our brides. Fortunately, our owner Marissa has a very handy husband & loving family who were able to do all the construction! We started with building, framing & dry-walling our fitting rooms to match the existing interior walls. We removed the existing watermarked ceiling tiles, painted the grid & installed clean new tiles. While updating the ceiling, we swapped out the industrial light fixtures for glam pendants & crystal chandeliers. Then came the paint! Covering the funky vibrant colors took many, many coats of paint. Once the minor build out & cosmetics were done, it was time for furniture, fixtures & decor! Marissa’s husband custom made all of the hanging racks in our boutique so we have plenty of flexibility for our brides. We brought in our plush velvet furniture, vintage chic mirrors & built our front desk counter. The only thing left was to train our team, bring in our inventory & we could start welcoming our brides!
